We are so pleased to welcome another member into RapidAIM’s R&D team, Vanessa!
A native of Adelaide, Vanessa completed her BSc in Zoology and Psychology with Honours in Applied Ecology at the University of Adelaide. With over 15 years of experience in applied entomology and fruit fly research Vanessa brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.
Our insect colonies will be in good hands as they are cared for and taken through our many weird and wonderful behavioural experiments. Vanessa has a great interest in applied research and we like to think she will be very at home in the lab, glasshouse, field, and office as she works on teasing out bug-secrets!
One of Vanessa’s favourite places on the planet is the Murray River in South Australia. She relishes the chance to visit with her husband and two daughters where they enjoy canoeing and bonfires amid the spectacular scenery.
Since moving up to Brisbane, Vanessa now enjoys having wonderful access to musical theater and art galleries. She really enjoys reading Wellbeing, Mind body and spirit audiobooks especially while walking with her adorable Bichon frise dog, Dolce, meaning ‘sweet’ in Italian 🐶 ❤️
